Thenkuzhal Murukku is a tasty, crunchy snack made with grind rice, urad dal and butter.
2 cups raw rice
1/2 cup urad dal
1 and 1/2 tbsp butter
hing for taste
1 tsp jeera
salt to taste
oil to deep fry
Add rice flour, urad dhal flour, jeera, salt and butter in a bowl and mix well.
Add boiled water little by little and mix well to form a soft dough.
Now make cylindrical portion to fit in the murukku press.
Grease the murukku press and fill it.
Heat oil and start making shapes and fry them.
Make sure it gets cooked evenly on both sides, turn over accordingly. Take it out when the color is golden brown on both the sides.
Drain in tissue, cool down completely and then store in airtight container.
